"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
Her Story & Journey
Latara’s journey was one of immense courage. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at a young age, she faced the daily struggles of managing blood sugar levels, medications, and the physical toll of the disease. Later, gastroparesis added even more complications, making it difficult for her to digest food properly, leading to severe health challenges. Despite this, she never let her condition define her. She lived her life with passion, faith, and an unbreakable spirit, always seeking to uplift those around her.
Faith in the Face of Struggles
Despite enduring numerous hospital stays, countless medical treatments, and daily health struggles, Latara held on to her faith. She believed in elevating beyond her circumstances and continued to inspire others with her strength. Even on her hardest days, she reminded those around her to never give up, no matter the obstacles.
Her Legacy Lives On
Latara's story is not just one of struggle—it's one of triumph over fear, of faith over doubt. She may no longer be with us, but her light, courage, and resilience continue to inspire.
At Elevate with Anaya Roché, we honor Latara by raising awareness about juvenile diabetes and gastroparesis, offering support to those fighting similar battles, and reminding everyone that challenges do not define us—how we rise above them does.
Raising Awareness: Advocating for Change
Millions of people worldwide face the challenges of diabetes and gastroparesis, yet awareness and understanding of these conditions remain limited. Through education, advocacy, and support, we can help bring attention to these invisible battles and push for better resources, research, and care.
Understanding Diabetes & Gastroparesis
Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes)
An autoimmune disease where the body attacks insulin-producing cells, leading to lifelong insulin dependency. It requires constant monitoring, dietary adjustments, and medical intervention to maintain stable blood sugar levels.

Gastroparesis
A condition where the stomach muscles weaken, causing delayed digestion, nausea, malnutrition, and extreme discomfort. It often coexists with diabetes, making meal planning and daily life even more challenging.

Why Awareness Matters
Many remain undiagnosed
Early detection of diabetes can prevent severe complications. Gastroparesis, on the other hand, is often misdiagnosed or misunderstood, leading to delays in treatment.
Improving care & research
Advocacy can drive more funding toward treatments, better medical support, and advancements in managing these conditions.
Supporting patients & families
Understanding these illnesses fosters compassion, reducing stigma and helping those affected feel seen and supported.
